Does this scenario sound familiar....you need pay guidelines to build an offer. Compa needs a job family, level and location in order to show you the right guideline. But what if the job family that came over from your ATS is wrong? πŸ˜• Or what if the job family is correct, but the candidate is in one location and you need to build an offer in a different location? πŸ€”

We are on a mission to make your life as easy as possible! So how about an escape hatch!? We know you're moving fast and need to close candidates quickly, so instead of going back to your ATS to make the requisite changes, you can add or change data directly in Compa. The updates flow through - and presto chango! - you get to the correct guideline and an offer built in no time flat - all in just a few clicks!

To get started, navigate to your Candidate's Profile page and start building an offer.

If no location is set for this offer, you'll notice a warning at the top of the screen and no guidelines will be available. Use the dropdown to pick the appropriate Location. Once selected, the corresponding guideline will appear and you're on your way.

If you pick a location that doesn't have a corresponding tier*, a warning notice will appear and no guidelines will be available. Use the dropdown to pick the appropriate Tier. Once selected, the corresponding guideline will appear.

It's important to note that many of these inputs exist in multiple places, but can have different use and/or impact.

  • Job Family and Job Level

    • Can be changed in the Prediction Input area of the Candidate Profile page OR on the Offer Builder

    • Changes made to either are specific to the candidate application and affect the assigned guideline as well as the Compa Estimate

  • Prediction Location

    • Can only be changed or assigned in the Prediction Input area of the Candidate profile page

    • Specific to the candidate application and affects the Compa Estimate

    • Automatically flows through to the Offer Builder and used in conjunction with job family and job level to assign the appropriate guideline for new offers (it will not change an offer that already exists)

  • Location and Tier

    • Can be changed or assigned in the Offer Builder

    • Specific to the offer only

    • Changes to location and tier in Offer Builder do not impact the Prediction Location

What's a Tier, you ask? Most organizations combine locations / cities / areas / regions with similar costs of labor into groupings that are then assigned to the same guideline or pay structure. While Compa is referencing those groupings as "Tiers", your organization may use different nomenclature, like geo zone, national / premium, USA A / USA B / USA C, etc. To the extent we have view into which locations are tied to which tiers, that information will be available as subtext below the tier name.
